Start with these fundamentals
Use this sequence as a learning checklist. Each step should lead to practical work you can review and improve, not just a tutorial watched once.
A useful beginner project
Create a small game with a complete start, play and end loop.
Keep original source files and a short explanation of your process. Evaluate whether you can repeat the technique on a new brief without following the original tutorial step by step.
How to compare tools and classes
Compare Unity and Unreal by project requirements and teaching support rather than broad claims of superiority.
Ask any training provider about tool version, device access, licensing, instructor feedback and real portfolio outcomes. An application certificate by itself is not proof of creative competence.
Go beyond the interface
Use Unity Learn for a guided beginner sequence and practice concepts like GameObjects, components, input and debugging before starting a large game.
A repeatable skills check
Package a small playable build and check the start, restart and end states with another person.
Software versions, licensing and requirements can change. Confirm features in the publisher’s own documentation ↗
